Gernot Zarfel leads a research group on antibiotic resistance at the Diagnostics & Research Center for Molecular BioMedicine. His current research focuses on the spread of antibiotic resistance in bacteria in the environment and its potential impact on human health. He also investigates the mechanistic basis of individual important resistance mechanisms.
